I have just had the kitchen decorated, and am now putting everything back in its place, and of course taking the opportunity to have a deep clean.
However any excuse to stop work! So I thought I would share a photo of my Grandmothers, (and then my Mother’s) wooden spoon.
As you may be able to see it is worn smooth, the bottom of the spoon is worn away from generations of stirring, and the spoon has taken on a dark colour. It is smooth as silk.
It is perhaps the nearest thing to a family heirloom that I have, I know there is a deep feeling of connectedness when I am using it.
