I have a huge library of cookery books, some of them bought full of promise, but never used, some well thumbed and some to be honest falling to pieces from over use with splashes and stains on the pages. This is one of those books. This is the book that I reach for more than any other as it has great tasting 100% reliable recipes.
It is also an excellent book for the novice cook as it covers a lot of basic “how to’s” for almost all types of cooking. This is a book which starts with recipes but seeks to set the reader free of their confines by explaining why we do the things we do to allow experimentation and so the development of recipes.
It may be looking a little dated now, but this is a sure fire 10/10 must have cookbook.
